The customer authenticates with an OTP sent to their Aadhaar-linked mobile number, or with a fingerprint or iris capture, and the document is signed and sealed on the spot. Is an Aadhaar eSign legally valid in India?
Yes. Electronic signatures executed through the eSign framework are recognised under the Information Technology Act, 2000, and are admissible as evidence. The signature is issued through CCA-empanelled infrastructure and the signer certificate is embedded in the resulting document, so validity can be verified independently by anyone holding the file.
What is the difference between Aadhaar eSign and a digital signature certificate?
Aadhaar eSign generates a signature on demand after the signer authenticates with Aadhaar — nothing is installed and no token is needed, which makes it ideal for customers. A DSC is a certificate issued to a named individual and stored on a USB token, used repeatedly by directors and authorised signatories for statutory filings and tenders.
Can several people sign the same document?
Yes. You can set a sequential order, where each signatory is invited only after the previous one completes, or a parallel flow where everyone signs independently. Pending signatories are reminded automatically.
Do you support bulk signing?
Yes. Batches of documents can be sent for signature in one operation, which is common for loan agreements, insurance policy documents, employment letters and vendor contracts. Completion is tracked per recipient with an exportable status report.
How long are signed documents stored?
Signed documents are available through the API for retrieval and can be stored for a retention period you configure, or pushed straight to your own document management system on completion. Many customers store the file themselves and use us only for execution.
